Catala Island & Yellow Bluff Beach Shoreline Cleanup

Partnering with Parley for the Oceans & BC Marine Trails

In September 2020, Rugged Coast removed approximately 500kg of marine debris from Catala Island and Yellow Bluff Beach in Nootka Sound, with more stashed above the high tide line to be cleaned up later (we needed a bigger boat). This trip included 2 members from BC Marine Trails and was the maiden voyage for our brand new (to us) Rugged Coast Trash Craft, our first organization-owned vessel!  After we filled up our boat,, Shorebird Expeditions of Tahsis, BC stopped by with their landing craft and took what they could.
